Life Raft

If you have ever been on a cruise ship, you probably were aware of the location of life saving devices like rafts and life jackets.  You wouldn't want to get into an emergency situation and not know how to use these things in order to survive.

Throughout my life I have found myself in situations where I didn't know how to use life preservation devices.  I have tried to paddle to safety with no luck because I relied on my own abilities.  I, of course, am speaking of deep rooted knowledge and understanding of God's Word.

As I cruised on the boat called life, I have tried to stay afloat based on the acceptance from everyone and trying to be a people pleaser.  The problem, I have always had...I tried to please the wrong people.

If we learn to be concerned with pleasing God, the rest will fall in place.  He will be, and is, our life raft.  He can carry us through life in the good times and through the emergencies.  We shouldn't live to be accepted by others or to only please others.  In pleasing God, we will learn how to be accepted and please who He wants us to, the way He wants us to.

Only through study of His Word,  prayer and close fellowship with God, will we learn how to reach for Him and not only stay afloat, but weather storms far better than we can on our own.

RAFT-rest assured (through) faith & trust that God will always be there to keep us afloat and carry us to new heights.  We can be secure in knowing that He is with us through the storms that life brings when we rely on His strength and life saving abilities.

Now that it's clear WHO we need to be accepted by, we can live in complete confidence knowing that Satan will not EVER be able to use our need for acceptance or approval against us.  He will try, but reach for Christ.

Your weakness may not be acceptance.  Yours could be anger,  bitterness, lying, hatred.  Whatever your weakness, God wants you to turn to Him for healing and preservation. He will be the RAFT that keeps you floating in His will instead of Satan making you a slave to it.

Satan wants us to be chained to our insecurities and weaknesses causing us to sink.  He wants us to live in the past, be shameful of our mistakes.  God is our RAFT.  He desires for us to rest safely in His arms so that we are free to serve Him with no worries of survival.

R-rest in His arms knowing He is God
A-be assured that He is bigger than   the storms of this life
F-faith in God takes the pressure off of you and let's God be God
T-trust that He will bring you safely to wherever it is He sees best for you.
