Race car driver continued...

Yesterday the Holy Spirit laid the race car driver/spotter analogy on my heart.  This will mean something in just a minute. Read on.

I awoke this morning with sadness as I reflected on the last 3 months of my life.  I have missed out on 3 months of my marriage that I can never get back.

I prayed for God to relieve the sadness and speak peace over me.

This is what happened next...
I started reading a devotional from Dr. Charles Stanley that was for January 1st titled "Keeping Our Eyes on His Goals."  HA!!! Being that this was the first time this little mailing was opened, I had not seen it until this very moment. I broke the seal on it just before I started reading it.

God spoke to me through this little book this morning in that the scripture reference was Philippians 3:13-15 NLT which says this, "No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you."

God is clearly saying I should look forward and not behind.  He is saying let Him be the spotter and do His job.  If we focus on what we missed, we miss so much more. Listen to THE SPOTTER.  The scripture evens calls this life a race. Notice the bold. Lol. God sees the end of the race and knows which direction you need to go.  He can see better than we can because He has a higher vantage point.  (I just can't make this stuff up.  Truly amazing)

I find the moments of God alignment with what the Holy Spirit lays on my heart truly delightful.  It is confirmation that the Holy Spirit is guiding me. It is also God cheering me up at sad moments because He knows these moments bring me pure joy.

Happy New Year!!!! May this be a year of eucharisteo (thanksgiving)!
